Peter Spearritt

Professor Peter Spearritt worked on the Australians 1938 oral history project, now housed in the National Library of Australia. That project was a major source for writers on the Australians 1938 volume in the 11 volume Bicentennial History published in 1988. He is the Director of the Centre for the Government of Queensland, the University of Queensland, the auspice body for the Queensland Speaks website.

Roger Scott

Professor Roger Scott taught public administration and public policy in several Australian universities. At various times, he has occupied the posts of head of school, president of the academic board, dean of the faculty and vice-chancellor. He served as Director General of Education in Queensland between 1990 and 1994 and has been a member of several advisory committees for both the Commonwealth government and several state governments on aspects of schooling and higher education. He is chair of Queensland Speaks Committee and is Emeritus Professor with the Centre for the Government of Queensland, the University of Queensland.

Brian Head

Professor Brian Head joined the University of Queensland in 2007 after holding several senior positions in Queensland government agencies from 1990 to 2003, including Chair of the Public Sector Management Commission. He has worked on organisational evaluation, public sector integrity and accountability, and a wide range of social, economic and environmental policy issues.

Rae Wear

Dr Rae Wear teaches Australian and Queensland politics in the School of Political Science and International studies at the University of Queensland. She has interviewed many political figures in the course of her research into state and federal politics. She has a special interest in rural politics and populism. 

Robin Sullivan

Robin Sullivan was the first married woman to be appointed Principal of a Queensland State High School and later Deputy Director General of Education. She subsequently served as Commissioner for Children and Young People where she undertook a number of initiatives including the Working with Children Check or ‘blue card’. After a major Crime and Misconduct Commission investigation into the abuse of children in care she served as Director General of the new Department of Child Safety which implemented all of the reforms recommended by the CMC enquiry.

Ann Scott

Dr Ann Scott worked for the Queensland government in several departments, including Education (1984-87), Premier's Department (1990-92), Public Sector Management Commission (1992-94), Office of the Commissioner, Queensland Police Service (1994-2004). She holds the national award of the Public Service Medal. Since retiring, she has taught public policy on a sessional basis in the University of Queensland and undertaken two historical biographies, the first published by Macmillan in 2009 and the second  to be published by Oxford University Press in 2011.

Danielle Miller

Dr Danielle Miller was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Centre for the Government of Queensland, the University of Queensland, 2010-13. Her doctoral work focused on the Queensland branch of the Australian Labor Party. She studies Queensland politics and the power structures of labour parties. In 2013-14 she was appointed as a Research Fellow in the School of Management, RMIT University, Melbourne.

Chris Salisbury

Dr Chris Salisbury is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Centre for the Government of Queensland, the University of Queensland. His doctoral work investigated the policy background of the Beattie Government’s Smart State Strategy and the development of a ‘knowledge economy’ in Queensland. He has previously worked on the ‘Australians at War Film Archive’ oral history project for the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, the records of which are now housed in the National Archives of Australia and accessible online.

Maree Stanley

Maree Stanley has previously worked in the TAFE sector and began working on the Queensland Speaks project as a recipient of a University of Queensland Summer Scholarship (2009) while completing a Masters in Governance and Public Policy. Since this time she has continued to work on the Queensland Speaks project while undertaking a PhD in political science with the Centre for the Government of Queensland, the University of Queensland, researching Queensland housing policy and the influence of peak organisations.

Sue Yarrow

Sue Yarrow worked for 19 years in the Queensland Public Service as both a Senior Ministerial Policy Advisors (for 7 years) and a public servant, in the following Departments: Lands; Natural Resources; Emergency Services; Child Safety; and Local Government. She is researching the Australian Labor Party’s March 1980 federal intervention into the Queensland Branch for a Masters degree with the Centre for the Government of Queensland, the University of Queensland. She participated in the reform of the Queensland Labor Party at that time.

Amanda Acutt

Amanda Acutt was a recipient of a University of Queensland Summer Scholarship with the Centre for the Government of Queensland in the 2010-11 program.

Casey Northam

Casey Northam was a recipient of a University of Queensland Summer Scholarship with the Centre for the Government of Queensland in the 2010-11 program.

Kezia Griffin

Kezia Griffin was a recipient of a University of Queensland Summer Scholarship with the Centre for the Government of Queensland in the 2010-11 program.

Micheline Astley-Boden

Micheline Astley-Boden was a recipient of a University of Queensland Summer Scholarship with the Centre for the Government of Queensland in the 2010-11 program.

Suman Ojha

Suman Ojha is an Associate Professor at the NSN Postgraduate College, which is a constituent college of the University of Lucknow, India. Her doctoral research considered the effectiveness of parliamentary structures in Queensland and Uttar Pradesh.
